Analysis Paralysis
Well we have all been here I assume(Sigh).
Why it took so long
Ever wanted to do something and then sat down to plan on how to do it exactly? Have you ever been in a constant loop of deciding which particular path to choose? Have you struggled in making that seemingly simple decision on design choice, colour perhaps, simple outfit? Having all the information at your fingertips does not always make the decision process simpler, though having more fact s is preferred it sometimes leads to Paralysis of Analysis or Information overload. Simply you end up not doing anything at all.
Well since am continuing from a previous piece will just have to mention that this piece took me even longer to write than the first one, I was trying too much to gather information and facts ended up failing to organise them all into this piece (in fact used none of them at all). I typically consider myself to be a perfectionist, a flaw which I mostly overcome by using crude efficiency as I will elaborate. With so much information abound making a simple decision becomes harder as with the more you know the more you become to see complexities or grey areas which loop you into more and more investigation on the said decision.
As a perfectionist, the futile attempt to have things done precisely delays the progression and at times the actual implementation of any desired goal, in this case writing a blog piece that is all to perfect from grammar, factual content, style and so on, but hey cut me some slack it’s only the second piece. I do intend to keep on at it and perfect the trade until it becomes second nature of translating all my thoughts into meaningful pieces which hopefully will always captive and inform my readers.
Knowing one's weaknesses and overcoming them are totally different things, in my case have always resorted to being crudely efficient at the sake of following some defined procedure. Simply am saying it's more important to just get it done, how it’s done should not matter, [well but it should]. I know sounds like some corner-cutting banter but actually from my view its rather a matter of what is being done, mostly I deal with digital stuff that inadvertently has the advantage of being easy to fix (well most of the time). Virtually implementing an idea and then constantly refining it until you get to the end product is the name of the game [rapid prototyping for those in developmental circles] the digital age affords us this distinct advantage so why not make full use of it.
Anyway, coming back to the crux of this piece the main idea behind these articles is for me to take note or simply put out all my "scrambled thoughts" that means there can be no particular format to it, after all, I mean how do I present something without format. After all the research on writing a good article I just had to do a 10min piece at the end of it all and then I wonder Why it took so long, like really! Why it took so long, like really!
Drop a comment. [oops]
